Functional Description

IS200TREAH2ACC is an Emergency Trip Terminal Board developed by GE. It is a part of Mark VIe control system. The Aeroderivative Turbine Emergency Trip (TREAH1A) terminal board serves as an integral component within the Mark* VIe system, specifically designed to seamlessly integrate with PPRO turbine I/O packs. The inputs and outputs of this board cater to various functionalities critical for turbine operation and safety.

Input and Output Configurations

Terminal board features a comprehensive range of inputs and outputs, ensuring efficient operation and control:

  • Customer Input Terminals: These inputs are facilitated through two 24-point pluggable barrier terminal blocks, providing an organized and accessible interface for customer-specific inputs.
  • Nine Passive Pulse Rate Devices: Distributed across X/Y/Z sections, these devices, three per section, are responsible for sensing a toothed wheel, enabling precise measurement of turbine speed.
  • Jumper Blocks for Signal Fanning: Jumper blocks play a pivotal role by enabling the fanning of one set of three speed inputs to all three PPRO I/O packs, optimizing signal distribution for uniform functionality.
  • 125 V DC TMR Voted Output Contacts: These output contacts, labeled as H2A and H4A, are crucial components used for system trip activation, ensuring failsafe measures for emergency scenarios.
  • Voltage Detection Circuits: Four circuits ranging from 24 to 125 V DC are dedicated to monitoring the trip string, enhancing system safety and reliability by continuously monitoring voltage levels.
  • Daughterboard Connectors: The inclusion of daughterboard connectors allows for optional feature expansions, offering scalability and customization possibilities for additional functionalities or enhancements.

In Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) systems, signal distribution is facilitated through the JX1, JY1, and JZ1 DC-62 PPRO connectors, ensuring redundancy and consistent functionality across multiple components, enhancing system reliability and safety

Installation

  • Wiring Configuration: Voltage Detection and Breaker Relay Wiring: The voltage detection circuits and the essential breaker relay connections are wired meticulously to the I/O terminal blocks designated as TB1. This setup facilitates reliable and efficient handling of voltage monitoring and system trip activation.
  • Passive Pulse Rate Pick-ups: Wired to TB2, the passive pulse rate pick-ups serve a critical function in sensing the toothed wheel and measuring turbine speed accurately.
  • Terminal Blocks and Specifications: I/O Terminal Blocks: Each terminal block (TB1 and TB2) is securely fastened using two screws, ensuring stability and steadfast connectivity. These blocks are designed with 24 terminals, capable of accepting wires up to #12 AWG, enabling robust and efficient wire connections.
  • Shield Termination Strip: Adjacent to each terminal block, a shield termination strip, firmly attached to chassis ground, provides an additional layer of protection against potential interference, guaranteeing signal integrity and system reliability.
  • This meticulous wiring configuration, with specific components connected to designated terminal blocks, along with the shield termination strips, ensures a secure and organized installation for the terminal board. Such careful installation procedures are vital for optimal functionality and performance within the turbine system.
