Essential details:IC670MDL740K  positive logic discrete output module

The IC670MDL740 is a positive logic discrete output module that is manufactured by GE Fanuc. This module is a general-purpose output module that is installed along a Bus Interface Unit (BIU) for implementing expansion I/O solution. It is typically used to energized output devices such as pilot lamps, relay coils, solenoid actuated devices and similar devices with low current rating as the IC670MDL740 provides an output current of 0.5 Amperes per channel and a total of 4 Amperes per module at voltage output range of 10-30 VDC and nominal voltage of 24 VDC.

The IC670MDL740 is designed with individual status LED indicators indicating the On / Off status of each output channel of the module. The entire I/O group is installed with a common fuse that is also assigned with a LED indicator for depicting fuse blown status. This module generates an inrush current rated 2 Amperes, maximum with duration of 100 ms. The output channels minimum load current is 1 mA per point, output voltage drop of 0.5 Volts, output leakage current of 0.5 mA at 30 VDC and typical response time for both On and Off signal transition.

The IC670MDL740 comes with integrated terminal block that is composed of 25 Terminals. Each terminal is designed for termination of a single AWG # 14 – AWG #22 wire or Two (2) wires with the use of AWG #18 wire. With an external jumper installed to this module, the permitted wire size is reduced to AWG #14 to AWG #16.

IC670MDL740K  positive logic discrete output module

The Field Control IC670MDL740 DC Output Module is a positive logic output module from GE Fanuc. The GE IC670MDL740 Positive Logic Output Module offers a single group of 16 discrete output channels. The outputs also act as sourcing-type outputs. The responsibility of the output points is to supply current to the load by switching it to the positive side of the DC power supply. There is a 5 Amps fuse within the module to connect to the external power supply. The outputs have the capability to switch loads within the range of 10 to 30 Volts DC while providing a maximum current of 0.5 Amps per point. Each output is connected to a status indicator LED to indicate the on/off status of that output.

The IC670MDL740 Positive Logic Output Module draws 111 milliamps of maximum current from the power supply of the Bus Interface Unit. The status indicators of the module indicate blown fuse faults and if the user supply voltage is below 9.8 Volts DC. If the connection of the power supply is incorrect, it blows the fuse. This means that the fuse helps to protect the output from polarity errors in the external power supply. It also helps to protect the module against an excessive currents flowing through the output points. The user is advised to use a slow-blow type fuse with 5 Amps of current rating and a 250 Volts AC voltage rating. The module can also send the blown fuse diagnostic messages to the bus interface unit. The IC670MDL740 Positive Logic Output Module has 2 Amps of maximum inrush current, 0.5 Amps of maximum load current, and 1 milliamp of minimum load current per point.
