The 1732E-8CFGM8R is an ArmorBlock Guard I/O Ethernet Safety module that is manufactured by Allen-Bradley. This module belongs to the 1732E product bulletin of ArmorBlock I/O with Ethernet communication port.

The Ethernet communication port of this module is composed of Two (2) Ethernet ports with built-in switch. These port supports implementation of Ring, Star, Tree and Linear topology and supports speed of 10/100 Mbps, using Full and half Duplex with a limit of 100 meters per segment. Each segment may be extended with the use of another Ethernet switch or appropriate repeater or by converting Ethernet to Fiber optic connectivity. It offers configuration, control and data collection by implementing the industry standard Common Industrial Protocol (CIP) over internet protocol such as TCP/IP and UDP. TCP/IP is used mainly for general messaging while UDP/IP is primarily used for I/O messaging to implement control.

The 1732E-8CFGM8R does not include an internal fusing. The I/O are self-configuring type with each point may be configured as sink or source. No particular grouping is applied. It also supports Daisy chaining of auxiliary power which helps in minimizing wire terminations.

This module is especially compatible with Allen-Bradley products and shall have no conflict being connected to the same network where a PowerFlex, PanelView, Point I/O or any ethernet device.
