The XVME-230 Intelligent Counter Module is aVMEbus-compatible intelligent lO module whichprovides a variety ofhigh-performance, high-levelcounting finctions. The module’s architecturefeatures Xycom Automation’s intelligent //O kernelwhich can significantly enhance system performanceby itselfhandling many time-consuming functions thatwould otherwise be performed by the host proces-sor. This on-board intelligence also gives theXVME-230 exceptional measurement and steppermotor control performance.
Many industrial applications require that time-varyingwaveforms be either measured or generated. TheXVME-230 module is capable ofhandling many ofthese measurement functions simultaneously. Themodule contains four programmable countingcircuits. Each circuit can handle four CLOCK inputsand four GATE inputs, allowing as many as 16separate counting functions to operate at once.
