Essential details：TSXMRPC007M  CONFIGURABLE SRAM MEMORY EXTENSION

The 7 MB PCMCIA memory card module TSX MRPC 007M is manufactured by Schneider Electric for use on the Modicon Quantum platform. The TSX MRPC 007M is a configurable SRAM memory extension and is used with the Quantum Safety PLC. Safety modules that are certified for use in SIL 3 applications utilize the PCMCIA memory card module TSX MRPC 007M.

TSXMRPC007M  CONFIGURABLE SRAM MEMORY EXTENSION

Safety memory allows for a write-protected area for any other device.  The Unity Pro XLS configuration cannot be checked because of some of the communications with the HMI or other PLCs. These communications do not configure in the safety PLC and are not located in the Unity Po XLS. The write access is controlled within the CPU.

What is write protection? Write protection prevents other devices from writing to the Safety memory area. It accomplishes this with the use of a blocking mechanism.  The PLC is not responsible for any write command and will return an error code.

What is the unrestricted memory area? The unrestricted memory area, or UMA, is a memory area that is specially dedicated to bits and words, which are not write-protected. What are the characteristics of the unrestricted memory area? First, it is located at the start of the complete memory range. Second, it can be configured in Unity Pro XLS. Finally, the values of the unrestricted memory area can not be used directly.  It can only be used through the use of specific function blocks.
