1.3. Definition
IOTA, input/output terminal module; A component that holds the IOM and field wiring connected to the IOM, input/output module: contains the device functions for most of the electronics required to perform a particular /O. The IOM is plugged into the IOTA. CPM, control processor module: Device that contains most of the electronics needed to perform the function An RTU controller. The CPM is plugged into the IOTA designed for CPMS. CPMS can optionally include IOM functionality.

The RTU2020 series features an innovative modular hardware design where processor modules can be plugged into IOTAs containing the following contents only passive devices such as cable connectors and /O link expansion ports allow expansion /O modules to connect without any further infrastructure.
