It is utilized for processor-intensive, modular instrumentation, and data obtaining applications. The PXIe-8135 incorporates two 10/100/1000BASE-TX (Gigabit) Ethernet ports, two high-speed USB ports, and four high-speed USB ports, along with an integrated hard drive, serial port, and other I/O. The device has a maximum controller bandwidth of 8 GB per second. This model also comes in three configurations: PXIe-8135 with Windows 7 64-bit (Part Number: 782450-04), with Windows 7 32-bit (Part Number: 782340-04), and with LabVIEW Real-Time (Part Number: 782340-33).

The SMB connector on the NI PXIe-8135 front board can interface with or from any PXI Express backplane trigger line. A trigger allocation process is expected to keep two assets from interfacing with a similar trigger line, resulting in the trigger being double-driven and perhaps harming the module.
