A power supply module is a power supply that can be mounted directly onto a printed circuit board (see Figure 1). It is characterized by the ability to provide power for application specific integrated circuits (ASics), digital signal processors (DSPS), microprocessors, memory, field programmable gate arrays (FPgas), and other digital or analog loads. Generally, such modules are called point-of-load (POL) power supply systems or point-of-use power supply systems (PUPS). Because the modular structure has many advantages, so the high performance telecommunication, network connection and data communication systems are widely used in various modules. First, the advantages of the power module

At present, different suppliers have launched a variety of different Psus in the market, and different products have different input voltage, output power, function and topology structure. Psus are superior to integrated solutions because they save development time and allow products to be brought to market faster. The power module also has the following advantages:

● Each module can be rigorously tested separately to ensure its high reliability, including power-on testing in order to weed out substandard products. In contrast, integrated solutions are more difficult to test because the entire power supply system is closely linked to other functional systems on the circuit.

● Different suppliers can design modules of the same size according to existing technical standards, providing a variety of different options for engineers designing power supplies.

Two, easily ignored power module design problems

Although the modular design has the above advantages, but the modular design and even the board DC/DC converter design also has its own problems, many people do not know enough about these problems, or do not give enough attention to. Here are some of the questions:

Three, the output noise measurement technology

All power supplies with switching mode emit noise. This measurement technique also ensures that ground loops are minimized.
