The PCI-5640 is an IF Transceiver Device. The PCI-5640 is made by National Instruments with the part number 779460-01. The NI PCI-5640 device provides various programming tools based on FPGA or Host processing. This IF Transceiver Device can be utilized with the NI-5640 driver software and NI LabVIEW application program when associated with host processing. The PCI-5640 uses the LabVIEW FPGA module when it is installed over an FPGA based processing environment.

The NI PCI-5640 is manufactured with dual input channels as well as output channels with full synchronizing capabilities. This device can perform with a maximum of 20 MHz real-time bandwidth. The PCI-5640 device is built with 14-bits analog to digital (A/D) and digital-to-analog (D/A) converters. This IF Transceiver Device is capable of digital down-conversion, along with digital up-conversion. The PCI-5640 is designed with a 250 kHz frequency range for analog input/output for FM signals. The NI PCI-5640 device is designed with a Xilinx Virtex-II Pro-P30 FPGA for inline processing functions.
