1 Introduction of PLC input/output module
1.1 Difference between digital and analog signals
A digital input/output signal is a switching signal, a 1 or a 0,

Analog signal, there are two, voltage or current signal, is generally the signal transmitted by the transmitter, such as the pressure transmitter to detect the water pipe pressure, it will output an analog signal 4- 20ma or 0-10V signal to PLC, PLC for data processing.

1.2 Difference between digital and analog input modules
According to the difference of field input signal, input module can be divided into switching input module and analog input module.

The function of switching input module is to convert various switching signals into TTL standard signals required by CPU. According to the input power supply type, it can also be DC input module and AC input module. The input signal is converted into TTL (5V) standard signal by photoelectric coupling after voltage division, current limiting and filtering.

The function of analog input module is to convert the continuously changing analog signals such as temperature, flow, current and voltage into a number of digital signals which can be processed by the CPU. The analog input circuit is generally composed of operational amplifier conversion, mode conversion (A/D), photoelectric isolation, etc.

PLC input, output module types: digital input DI, digital output DO, analog input AI, analog output AO.

Digital input and output are generally 24V.

There are two types of analog quantity and four kinds of analog quantity. The two types are voltage type and current type respectively. Voltage type has 0-10V and -10 to 10V. Current type mainly has 4-20MA,0-20MA. Then the module through A/D conversion, the analog quantity converted to +32767~-32768 number, and then the implementation of control.

1.3 Digital input/output module
The switching input module is the processing module of the external control signal or the field detection signal to the PLC CPU. The external signal is generally the button, proximity switch, travel switch and so on.

The output module is the PLC according to the input module into the signal and internal logic programming logic processing, processing results, switching output will be output by the output module high and low level signal, drive the external intermediate relay, contactor, indicator light, solenoid valve and other components, so that the external equipment for the corresponding action
1.4 Functions of the Output module
The function of PLC output module is to amplify the power of the output signal.
