Product Description

The IS420UCSBH4A is a controller module manufactured by General Electric and part of the Mark VIe family for gas turbine control systems equipped with 1066 MHz Intel EP80579 microprocessors. The application code is executed by a separate computer called a UCSB controller. Through the onboard 1/0 Network (IONet) interface, the controller is mounted in the panel and communicates with I/O packets. Only Mark controls the I/O modules and controllers, powered by a dedicated dedicated Ethernet network called IONet. The controller’s operating system (OS) is QNX Neutrino, a real-time multitasking operating system developed for industrial applications that require extreme speed and reliability. UCSB controllers lack any application I/O host compared to traditional controllers that host application I/O on the backplane. In addition, each controller has access to all I/O networks, providing it with all input data. If a controller is rejected for maintenance or repair, the hardware and software architecture ensures that a single point of application input is not lost. Functional safety loops are implemented with Mark VIeS UCSBSIA safety controllers and Safety 2/3 modules to achieve SIL 1 and 0 functions.

IS420UCSBH4A GE Controller module manufactured by General Electric

There are many kinds of controller modules manufactured by General Electric, such as IS220UCSAH1A, IS420UC and so on. These modules are commonly used as part of GE’s distributed turbine control system and can run the Power QUICC II Pro Freescale processor at 667 MHz. These modules have the characteristics of high reliability, high stability and wide temperature operation, and are suitable for various industrial automation control application scenarios. In addition, these modules also have a variety of I/O interfaces, which can collect various input signals and output control signals to control device operation.
