  • The Mark VIeS Safety control is a stand-alone safety control system used to reduce risk in critical safety functions by operators knowledgeable in safety-instrumented system (SIS) applications. It is based on the Mark VIe control system, which is used in a variety of power plant applications. The same ToolboxST application that is used in the Mark VIe control is used to program and configure the system.
  • The firmware of the controller and distributed I/O module has been enhanced for use with safety controls.
  • Specific Control hardware from Mark VIe has also been identified for use in safety control systems. While the Mark VIeS control handles the system’s logic solving, it can also communicate with the ToolboxST application.
  • The ToolboxST application can communicate with other distributed control systems (DCS). It enables the Mark VIeS control to be locked or unlocked for configuration and safety-instrumented function (SIF) programming. This enables you to install a safety function, test it, and then lock the controller to perform safety control.
