The IS215UCVFH2A is a component created by GE for the Mark VI system. The Mark VI is one of the Speedtronic systems for gas or steam turbine management created and released by GE between the late 1960s and the 1990s.

The IS215UCVFH2A functions as a UCV Controller. This is one of five controller versions available for the Mark VI.  The IS215UCVFH2A is a double-slot board designed for high-end current controllers. This component mounts into the Control Module VME rack.  It communicates using the VME bus to input/output boards. The controller is loaded with application specific software designed for steam, gas, BOP (balance of plant,) and land-marine aeroderivatives. The IS215UCVFH2A is built with an Intel Pentium processor (850 MHz.) The processor has flash memory of 128 MB or 16MB and 32MB or DRAM.

The IS215UCVFH2A is built with a double-slot faceplate.  This faceplate has several components, including:

  • “LAN 1.”  This is the first Ethernet port that is used for Unit Data Highway communication.   The port’s two LEDs (one yellow and one green) are connected to 10BaseT and 100BaseTX.   The LEDs will blink when that speed link is active, and will be solid when it is inactive.

  • “LAN 2.”  This is the second Ethernet port that is used for expansion input/output communication.  This port has two LEDs (yellow and green.)

  • Four status LEDs.  

  • Com1/Com2 are ports for serial communication and initial controller setup.

  • A single USB port

  • Mouse/Keyboard port

  • Monitor port, labeled SVGA
