Functional Description

IS200TBAIH1CDC is an analog input/output terminal board developed by GE. It is a part of Mark VIe control system. The Analog Input/Output terminal board serves as a crucial component in the system, facilitating analog signal processing with its support for both inputs and outputs. With its versatile functionality and robust design features, the TBAI terminal board enhances the system’s capability to handle analog signals effectively.

Analog Inputs and Outputs

  • Inputs: The terminal board supports 10 analog inputs, accommodating various types of transmitters, including two-wire, three-wire, four-wire, or externally powered transmitters. This flexibility enables seamless integration of different sensor types and signal formats into the system.
  • Outputs: Two analog outputs are provided, which can be configured for a 0-20 mA range. Additionally, with the PAICH2 option, the first output also supports a wider 0-200 mA current range. This versatility in output configuration ensures compatibility with a wide range of control and monitoring devices within the system.

IS200TBAIH1CDC ANALOG INPUT/OUTPUT TERMINAL BOARD

Features

  • Noise Suppression Circuitry: Both the inputs and outputs of the terminal board feature noise suppression circuitry. This circuitry is designed to protect against surge and high-frequency noise, ensuring signal integrity and reliability even in challenging operating environments.
  • Connector Configuration: The TBAI terminal board features three DC-37 pin connectors for interfacing with Peripheral Analog Input/Output Controllers (PAICs). In simplex applications, a single connector (JR1) is utilized, while in Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) applications, all three connectors are employed.
  • TMR Signal Handling: In TMR applications, input signals are fanned out to the three connectors for the R, S, and T controls. The TMR outputs combine the current from the three connected output drivers and determine the total current using a measuring shunt. The TBAI terminal board then presents the total current signal to the PAICs for regulation to the commanded setpoint, ensuring consistent and accurate control across redundant channels.

Configuration

  • Jumpers J1A through J8A: These jumpers are utilized to select either current input or voltage input for each of the input channels. This flexibility allows users to accommodate different types of sensors and signal sources, whether they output current or voltage.
  • Jumpers J1B through J8B: These jumpers determine whether the return is connected to common or left open for each input channel. This configuration choice enables users to adapt the board to different grounding schemes or signal reference requirements.
  • Jumpers J9A and J10A: These jumpers allow users to select either a 1 mA or 20 mA input current range for specific input channels. This selection depends on the sensitivity and range of the sensors or transmitters being used.
  • Jumpers J9B and J10B: Similar to jumpers J1B through J8B, these jumpers determine whether the return for the 1 mA or 20 mA input current range is connected to common or left open. This configuration choice ensures compatibility with different grounding or reference configurations.
  • Jumper J0: This jumper sets output 1 to either a 20 mA or 200 mA current range. This selection provides flexibility in configuring the output range to suit specific control or monitoring requirements.
