IS200ECTBG2A GE Exciter Contact Terminal Board

When using the IS200ECTBG2A model in the EX2100 system, it must be managed by another board; the board that the ECTB model, as well as others, such as the EXTB, EACF, and EPCT I/O terminal boards, are managed by is the EMIO board; when the model is used with the EMIO board, the EMIO board will collect the input and outputs and then send them as logic level gate pulse signals over the backplane to the ESEL board.

The best manual to use when operating or installing this model would be the part-specific GEI-100457 Exciter Contact Terminal Board Instruction Manual, but as that manual is difficult to find, the model can be operated and installed when using the GEH-6632 EX2100 Excitation Control User’s Guide.

Frequently Asked Questions about IS200ECTBG2A

Is the IS200ECTBG2A board used with any other boards within the EX2100 Series?

Yes. The IS200ECTBG2A board is typically connected to the EMIO board, the attached EMIO board controls and manages the inputs and outputs from the IS200ECTBG2A board.

Are there any hardware differences between the IS200ECTBG2A and IS200ECTBG1A boards?

No. The two ECTB boards are made up of the same hardware. The two boards consist of the same contact inputs and outputs.

Other than the IS200ECTBG2A board operating in simplex mode are there any significant differences between the IS200ECTBG2A and IS200ECTB1A boards?

No. The most significant difference between the two ECTB boards is their operation mode. Typically the alphanumeric catalog number holds significant meaning but due to the GEI-100457 manual being challenging to find it is unsure if the alphanumeric catalog number on the two boards represents distinct differences in the two boards.

The two contact inputs on the IS200ECTBG2A board are 86G and 52G what are the dedications for these two inputs?

The 52G contact input is used to give the online status of the generator, while the 86G contact input is used as a lockout during normal operation.
