The IC693BPM200 is a Profibus Master Module that is part of the Series 90-30 controller platform previously from GE Fanuc, now acquired by Emerson Automation. This module is an option communications module that support Profibus communication protocol. It comes with One (1) Profibus Master port that supports communication to Profibus network in daisy chain topology and another RS232 service port that can be used for downloading configuration and firmware upgrade.

The IC693BPM200 is a single slot module that installs to the CPU baseplate, expansion or remote baseplate. It supports communication of up to 125 Profibus DP slaves, enabling implementation of Remote I/O architecture and communication to other devices such as gateways, HMI, SCADA and other devices. For Remote I/O functionality, each Profibus slave is able to receive 244 Bytes of input data and send 244 Bytes of output data. It supports Synch and Freeze configuration and configurable to all Profibus standard transmission rates ranging from 9600 Kbaud to 12MBaud. It follows Daisy-chain topology as this protocol is derived from RS485 electrical standard with both ends, specifically, node 1 and the last node of the network, closed by means of a terminating resistor. It also comes with SYS and COM status LEDs depicting active communication and device operation.

This module is configured using the CIMPLICITY Machine Edition Logic Developer version 2.6 or later. It can be used with Series 90-30 CPUs such as CPU 311/313/323, 331, 341,350, 352,360,363,363 and 364. For most applications and control system, applicable CPU release for this module is V8.00 however, if intended to be used in large scale applications, CPU release 10.60 or later may be needed.

The GE Fanuc IC693PBM200 Profibus DP Master Module Communication Card is a solid-state communication card that is specifically designed and built for use in the GE Series 90-30 Programmable Logic Controllers. It serves as the main communication interface between the PLC and a PROFIBUS DP network, enabling the PLC to connect into the network and establish data exchanges with field devices, other controllers, communication platforms, and many other types of devices. Up to 125 PROFIBUS DP slave units can be controlled from a single Fanuc PLC by using this module, which has the capacity to receive 244 bytes of inputs from the network and to dispatch 244 bytes of output commands in response.

In order to configure the IC693PBM200 GE Fanuc Profibus DP Master Module Communication Card, the users should have licensed version 2.6 or later of the Proficy Machine Edition Logic Developer software. This Profibus DP Master Module card can be mounted in any slot of a GE Fanuc 90-30 baseplate, except for slot 1, which is usually reserved for the power source module. The IC693PBM200 GE Fanuc Profibus DP Master Module Communication Card is able to work at any of the standard data rates (9.6K, 19.2K, 93.75K, 187.5K, 500K, 1.5M, 3M, 6M, and 12M Baud). The operating temperature of the card ranges from 0 degrees Celsius to 60 degrees Celsius. When the temperature in the working environment surpasses these temperature extremes in any direction, it is important to consider the use of a climate control system for the enclosure where the PLC and the communication card is going to be placed.
