The IC693CPU372 is a TCP I/P ethernet communication interface. This module is mainly used to enable communication over ethernet network and support system protocols such Modbus TCP Server / Client and Industrial Ethernet. This module can be used to periodically perform data exchange using Ethernet Global Data (EGD), SRTP and SRTP client.

The IC693CPU372 supports full PLC programming and configuration services. It comes with Dual Ethernet ports that share the same IP Address and functions as an internal Ethernet switch, allowing Daisy chain connection of for networking and implementation of Device Level Ring (DLR) topology. Each port supports network auto sensing, eliminating the need of assigning the module to speed of the existing network.

The IC693CPU372 is equipped with a dedicated processor with clock speed of 133 MHz. For configuration, a built-in web server allows remote connection of a configuration station which can be utilized for introducing simple configuration to the module as well as module monitoring. For programming of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) function, the IC693CPU372 is configured using the Machine edition of PLC Logic Developer of the Proficy Machine Edition software packages.

The IC693CPU372 supports It supports 2048 Discrete Inputs, 2048 Discrete outputs, 128 – 32,640 Analog input Words and 128 – 32640 Analog output Words (max) with a total user memory of 240 Kbytes. This built-in memory is of Random Access Memory (RAM) type that is battery backed-up. Optional non-volatile memory may be added or Flash memory to provide a memory that does not require battery energy to retain memory contents.

The IC693CPU372 module is designed and manufactured by GE Fanuc. This industrial communication module is intended for communication over the industrial Ethernet network that is operating through the TCP/IP protocol. The unit is compatible with GE PLC devices that are available through Series 90-30 or the VersaMax series, or with PLC devices that are part of the PACSystems. The IC693CPU372 module has an integrated interface for Ethernet communication and it can be used with host computers that have all the necessary installed software tools. The Ethernet interface supports up to 3 different Series 90-30 modules that can provide additional capabilities. The backplane of the programmable logic controllers from Series 90-30 can use the combined modules to improve the performance of the complete system.

The IC693CPU372 communication module features 2048 input/output points and it provides a memory capacity of 240 kilobytes. Like most of the similar components from the series, this module has an 80386EX type processor and it is meant to be used on a 32-bit system. The unit supports communication through popular networks like the 100BaseTX IEEE 802.3 and 10BaseT networks. For these purposes, the unit includes 2 shielded Ethernet ports with auto-sensing capabilities. The unit has a pair of Ethernet connectors, a Station Manager function connector, LED status indicators, a main switch, and a restart button. The IC693CPU372 module supports floating point math, the duplex mode, easy configuration and programming, and an SRTP server option. The processor of the IC693CPU372 module works on 133 Megahertz and it supports either RAM or Flash memory for storage. The unit operates with a backup battery and it requires 7.4 Watts at 5 Volts DC.
