The IC695CHS007 is designed for horizontal minting only. Other mounting orientations may affect airflow and ultimately affect system performance. This rack directly mounts to the enclosure subpanel via the provided mounting hole available to the chassis.

The GE IC695CHS007 backplane is a universal backplane that is part of the RX3i PACSystems series that is designed and manufactured by GE Fanuc and it is a replacement for the Series 90-30 system. The IC695CHS007 backplane has an input voltage of +24 Volts. The users should note that the suggested mounting method should include horizontal orientation and installation in a protective enclosure with a minimum protection rating of IP 20 (NEMA Type 1). The IC695CHS007 universal backplane has a grounding point along with terminal strip located on the left end. Also, the backplane includes an integrated grounding bar and visible slot numbers for configuration and it provides support for systems and option modules from other manufacturers.

The IC695CHS007 backplane has an internal current of 240 milliamps at 5 Volts DC and a current of 600 milliamps at 3.3 Volts DC and it has 7 available slots for components. The supported components can include PCI I/O components like the IC693. The PCI components that are compatible start with the product code IC695. The GE backplanes like the IC695CHS007 backplane can be used in hazardous areas but they require an enclosure with higher degree of protection in these environments. The minimum protection rating for hazardous locations is IP 54. The IC695CHS007 backplane does not require much installation space but it needs a minimum of 4 inches of space on all sides in order to have proper cooling.
