Product Description

Product Model 5437-1078 is a ProTech detection system from Woodward. It’s compatible with hydro, gas, and steam turbines, functioning to safely shut them down. This product uses 2 out of 3 voted architecture, and three non-voted trip relay outputs, allowing for one to fail or be worked on while the others are functioning. Each of the three independent relays has individual alarms.

Model 5437-1078 High-Voltage/Low-Voltage Voted Spare Relay Module for ProTech models -1246, and -1369.  In addition to acceleration detection, this safety device also uses open-wire MPU detection and communication with speed readouts of 4-20 mA. The sulfur-resistant conformal coating allows for this safety device to be used in class 3C2 environments. The 5437-1078 is certified as a Safety Integrity Level 3 safety device and can be applied as a stand-alone IEC61508-based device or within an IEC61511-based plant safety system.
