The Allen-Bradley 2711P-T12C4A6 is a Touch operated human Machine Interface (HMI) device that is compatible for installation in a wide variety of industrial applications of different industries. This electronic equipment is part of the bulletin 2711P PanelView Plus 6 product family of operator terminals, typically installed in the factory floor which provides centralized process visualization and control of the connected machine or process.

This terminal is downloaded with a custom designed application that represents the measuring and control points of the system along a control interface that let users to input the necessary control actions. The 2711P-T12C4A6 comes with a 12.1-inch, colored display screen with resolution of 800 x 600 pixels and viewing area of 246 x 184 mm (9.7 x 7.2 in.). This screen has an adjustable contrast and brightness for a clearer view and maximize use of the backlight. This screen also hosts the analog resistive touchscreen interface that are rated 1 million actuation @ operating force of 10-110 g.

A logic module comes pre-installed to this terminal. This logic module provides 128 MB RAM and 128 MB non-volatile memory.

The 2711P-T12C4A6 communicates with partner automation devices through the embedded RS232 interface which supports point-to-point communication over short distances and an Ethernet communication port for long distance, multi-node communications.

The AC-powered Allen-Bradley 2711P-T12C4A6 PanelView Plus 1250 touchscreen terminal base unit comes with a 128 MB Flash memory and a 128 MB RAM, as well as built-in Ethernet and RS-232 ports. Found on this base terminal is an analog touchscreen that is an 18-bit active matrix thin film transistor screen and measures 12.1 inches. This screen has a 9.7 x 7.2 inches total display area and has a resolution of 800 x 600. It also comes with a backlight that is replaceable and that has an average life of 50,000 hours and a luminance of 300 Nits. Also built-in on the 2711P-T12C4A6 terminal is a real-time clock, which is battery-backed, that serves to timestamp critical data. It uses an x86, Intel Celeron processor that has a 650 MHz bus speed and that comes with a CompactFlash slot and with 1 USB port each for the keyboard and mouse.

The input voltage of this terminal at 47 to 63 Hz line frequency is from 85 to 264V AC. Note that the 2711P-T12C4A6 terminal has a 160 VA maximum power consumption. For this terminal, its room temperature should be between 0 and 55 deg. C when in operation and between -25 and 70 deg.C when not in operation or in storage, and it has NEMA Type 12, 13, 4X, IP54, or IP65 enclosure ratings.
