The Allen-Bradley 2711E-T14C6 is part of the PanelView 1400e Operator Terminal. This is an obsolete Human Machine Interface (HMI) device that provides centralized monitoring and control of machine and process from a convenient location in the factory-floor.
This operator terminal has a rugged design, allowing it to be installed and used in a wide range of industrial applications and industries. Being part of the early versions of HMI, this operator terminal comes with a 14-inch Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) with display area of 247.6 mm × 185.7 mm and 256 fixed colors with a resolution of 640 by 480 pixels and an integrated anti-glare component for and improved view of the HMI display.
This PanelView 1400e allows operator interaction via the touchscreen interface with Minimum size of 40 × 40 pixel touch cell and a maximum number of touch cells at 192 or 16×12 pixels. This touchscreen membrane is rated for an actuation rating range of 2.5 to 3 oz or 71 to 85 grams. It is made of cast aluminum with black powder coating bezel and 95% gloss, hard-coated, scratch-resistant polyester, over chemically strengthened glass touch membrane.
Available communication interfaces with this operator terminal are Data Highway Plus (DH+) / Remote I/O communications port which are support high-speed communication utilizing daisy-chain topology. This communication interfaces uses a common communication cable which is the Allen-Bradley 1771-CD or Belden 9463 communication cable.

The 2711E-T14C6 features different user-definable function keys with a keypad that is used for entering numeric values. The 2711E-T14C6 keypad comes as a pre-labeled unit supporting the creation of the key labels to suit the application needs.
The 2711E-T14C6 features special keypad keys that include arrow keys and a home key used for navigating through the set bit cursor and the numeric input cursor points. The select key is used with a set bit cursor and it has the numeric input cursor points used to pop up the numeric entry scratchpad. The 2711E-T14C6 comes with a standard feature on all of the terminals with valid back numbers. The maximum number of racks is 64 and features the discrete and the block transfer configurations. These allow the device to achieve direct access to the other RIP ports without the PLC Logic module. The 2711E-T14C6 comes with the RS-232 serial featuring the ControlNet/RIO pass-through feature. The unit supports connectivity to multiple PLCs as well as the other PanelView terminals. It has a 24-hour display clock that can adjust accurately for up to 7 minutes per month at 50 degrees Celsius (122 degrees Fahrenheit). The 2711E-T14C6 has an operational temperature range between 32 and 122 degrees Fahrenheit and a relative humidity limit of 95% at 86 degrees Fahrenheit.
