  The tampering requirement for analog to digital signals is -100 dB to 2 GHz. There must be no parallel wiring between the analog input signal and the I/O routing, or between the analog input signal and the FPGA I/O signal routing.

The ADC presents a switching capacitor loaded to the driver circuit. Therefore, the total RC constant, including package, wire, and parasitic drives, must be less than 42.4ns. This consideration is to ensure that the input signal is completely stabilized during the sampling phase.

If the total sampling rate is reduced, then the required stabilization time can be calculated as 0.45 ÷ FS > 10.62 × RC constant.

To get more total RC margin, Intel recommends keeping the driver source impedance as low as possible:

For non-pre-divider channels – less than 1 kΩ

For pre-divider channels – less than 11 Ω

Note: Failure to follow source impedance recommendations may affect parameters such as total harmonic distortion (THD), signal-to-noise and distortion ratio (SINAD), differential nonlinearity (DNL), and integral nonlinearity (INL).

If possible, route switch I/O wiring on different layers.

There is no special requirement for input signal routing impedance. However, the DC resistance of the input wire must be as low as possible.

If there is no REFGND plane, route analog input signals near REFGND as far as possible.

Use REFGND as the ground reference for the ADC input signal.

For the input signals enabled by the pre-divider, the ground reference is set to REFGND. If the ground reference of the input signal enabled by the pre-divider is set to common ground (GND), performance will be degraded.

Input low pass filter selection

Intel recommends that you deploy a low-pass filter to remove high-frequency noise that is aliased into the input signal.

Place the low-pass filter as close to the analog input signal as possible.

The cutoff frequency depends on the analog input frequency. Intel recommends that Fcutoff@-3dB be at least twice the input frequency.
