What is serial communication?

Serial communication refers to a communication mode in which data can be transmitted in bits using only one receiving line and one transmitting line. Although serial communication is slower than byte-by-byte parallel communication, serial ports can transmit data using only two wires.

Typical serial communication uses three wires, namely ground, transmit, and receive. Since serial communication is asynchronous, the port can send data on one line while receiving data on the other. The most important parameters of serial communication are baud rate, data bit, stop bit and parity check. For the two ports that need to communicate over serial ports, these parameters must match, which is also the prerequisite for serial port communication.

Two, serial communication protocol?

The initial data is a simple process of analog signal output, and then the instrument interface has a RS232 interface, which can achieve point-to-point communication, but this way can not achieve networking function, which promotes RS485.

The biggest feature of RS485 communication is that the transmission speed can reach more than 10Mb/s, and the transmission distance can reach about 3000 meters. We need to note that although the maximum speed and maximum transmission distance of 485 are very large, but the transmission speed will be slower with the increase of distance, so the two can not be both.
