Overview

Essential details:1788-DNBO  Allen Bradley DeviceNet daughtercard.

The Allen-Bradley 1786-DNBO is a DeviceNet Daughtercard. This daughtercard is used with any compatible Allen-Bradley device that accommodates this module.

For configuration of the DeviceNet daughtercard, RSNetWorx for DeviceNet V3.0 Service Pack 2 is required. This is required to include the module to the system scanlist.

To set the network address of the 1788-DNBO, Two (2) switches are provided with the 1788-DNBO. Valid node address is 0-63 which is the node range supported by DeviceNet networks. As a general rule, the node address of the daughtercard must be unique and shall have no duplicate address in the network. Additionally, setting the node address to 99 and restarting the module, erases the daghtercard to the defined scanlist therefore, this shall only be done is erasure to scanlist is needed. The switch settings are read during powerup to identify the set address and the intended operation for the daughtercard.

The network transmission rate may be configured using a different hardware switch, installed also in the daughtercard. This switch is located beside the Removable connectors and allows setting of speeds such as 125 Kb if set at Zero (0), 250Kb if set at One (1) and 500 Kb if set at Two (2). Similarly, the switch settings are read during module startup.

This daughter card is provided with status indicators such as Network Status (NS) and I/O status indicators. The Network status indicator is a bi-color LED that generally display the status of the communication link. The I/O status indicator as well is a bi-color LED that indicates the I/O scanning speed.

The 1788-DNBO daughter card offers selectable baud rates and nodes (0 = 125k, 1 = 250k, 2 = 500k), which can be set via the hardware push-wheels on the board, and it has input and output data rates of 124 Double Integers (DINT) and 123 DINTs. The 1788-DNBO daughter card connects to the DeviceNet network via a factory provided 5-pin DeviceNet connector cable which is connected to the DeviceNet port on the scanner and screwed tightly with connector screws. It has Network status (NW), module status (MS), and I/O status indicators, which indicate the card’s performance status. The 1788-DNBO daughter card has an operating temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius, and it can be stored within a –40 to 85 degrees Celsius temperature range. It has a net shipping weight of 0.1 kilograms, and it is CE, c-UR-us, C-TICK, and ODVA certified.
