The 1783-US5T is an unmanaged Ethernet switch by Allen-Bradley. This is part of the Stratix 2000 industrial-grade switches that are used for industrial networking, implementing Ethernet connectivity. This ethernet switch mainly features Five (5) Fast Ethernet copper ports supporting 10/100 Mbps transmission speed. This ethernet switch can be used to link different automation devices for implementing data exchange and integration of Programmable Logic / Automation Controllers (PLC / PAC), Human Machine Interface (HMI), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA), communication modules, gateways, field equipment, and devices. The 1783-US5T is powered by an external DC supply voltage range of (12-48V DC, 18-30V AC, 50/60 Hz), with a nominal voltage of 24 VDC / VAC, nominal current of 180 mA for DC input, and 360 mA for AC input. In addition, the device’s maximum input current is 380 mA for DC input and 750 mA for AC input. This switch can withstand an inrush current of 1.85 Amperes. The 1783-US5T has an operating temperature of -10 to 60 Degree Celsius, maximum surrounding air and ambient temperature of 60 Degree Celsius, and relative humidity of 5-95%. This device has a vibration rating of 2g at 10-500 Hz, an operating shock of 15 g with an IP30 environmental rating. The 1783-US5T measures 114.5 mm (4.51 in.) (H) x 29.6 mm (1.17 in.) (W) x 68 mm 2.68 in.) (D). It is designed for DIN rail mounting via the provided DIN rail mounting clip at the back of the device. A removable terminal is mounted on top of the module that is used for terminating the external power supply.

This industrial grade Ethernet switch by Allen Bradley, 1783-US5T, is one member of a series of switches designed to increase network flexibility and performance, as well as to diminish or completely reduce the risk of excessive network traffic. This unmanaged switch has a total of five (5) ports, all of which are classified as fast RJ45 Ethernet ports. Operating most efficiently in a temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius, this unit’s compact design maximizes storage space with its 4.51 x 3.02 x 1.17 inch (114.5 x 76.8 x 29.6 millimeter) dimensions and Open-Style enclosure type. The 1783-US5T has an average voltage input of 24 Volts AC/DC, but it accepts input voltage ranges of 18 to 30 Volts AC and 18 to 60 Volts DC. Its power consumption peaks at 3.4 Watts, with a nominal current of 180 mA DC and 360 mA AC, and a maximum current of 380 mA DC and 750 mA AC. The 783-US5T reduces the networking time and traffic by using a protection system and reduces time in a harsh environment by adding and using power inputs. This unit’s ground connection wire must be no larger than 2.5 square millimeters (14 AWG), must be made of copper wire, and must be able to withstand temperature ranges up to 187 degrees Fahrenheit (86 degrees Celsius).
