Overview

Essential details:1756-OX8I Allen-Bradley ControlLogix Discrete output module

The 1756-OX8I is an Allen-Bradley product intended for use with the ControlLogix platform. This module is a Relay output module that consists of Eight (8) Normally Open (N.O) and Eight (8) Normally Closed (N.C) individually isolated contacts.

As this is a contact output module, each contact may be individually wired with an AC Voltage with range of 10 – 240 VAC or DC Voltage range of 5 to 125VDC. This enables the module to energize output devices operating at different voltage categories. Output devices such as contactors, motor starters, variable frequency drives, pilot lamps, annunciator panels, sounding devices, motors and equipment are some of the loads that may be connected to this module.

The output channels of this module are individually isolated however, it may also be wired as a non-isolated relay output module. This is done by simply shorting the L1 connections of the Removable Terminal Block (RTB) with the use of 1756-JMPR or a 3rd party jumper conductor.

Compatible RTB for use with relay output module are 1756-TBCH and 1756-TBS6H. These modules are separately purchased. With the use of RTBs, Output termination is modularized, module installation, troubleshooting and replacement is simplified. RTB prevent re-wiring or output signal termination.

Each of the modules maximum initial contact resistance of 100 m? at 6V 1 A. Additionally, each contact output has an expected contact life of 300 kHz for resistive load and 100 kHz inductive for inductive load. It also has a switching frequency of 1 operation/3 s (0.3 Hz at rated load) and a mean bounce time of 1.2 ms.
