1394-SJT10-C-RL GMC system module

The 1394-SJT05-C is manufactured by Allen-Bradley that functions as a GMC standard system module used with 1394 Product bulletin of Multi-Axis Motion control systems. This component has an embedded RS232 / 422 and DH485 capability as well as an AxisLink and Remote I/O communication ports.

As it is equipped with a Remote I/O communication port, this module is capable of performing data exchange between GMC Turbo and Standard systems as well as with Allen-Bradley’s SLC 500 and PLC 5 controller platforms. Additionally, the AxisLink communication may also be used exclusively for directly communicating with other system modules in the network. It may also be used to set the master axis in the network .

When wiring the system module, use type MTW copper wire which is a Machine Tool Wire with 75 Deg. Celsius. Use 12 AWG wire size (3.3 sq. milimeter). Minimize noise and ground loops, separate feedbacks and ensure a properly grounded system to ensure smooth operation of the system. The system module is designed with inverter carrier frequency of 5000 Hz. Output inverter switching outputs carrier frequency of 10,000 Hz. This may become an additional source of noise which may affect sensitive equipment installed adjacent to the module.

When routing cables inside the cabinet, separate the Low voltage, Communication, Control I/O and Motor feedback cables from the Power Cables and 460 / 380 VAC power. Each shall have a different point of entry. Cross high and low voltage wires at 90 Degrees. Do not run Low voltage and high Voltage wires in the same cable management tray.
